Modern Western medicine is discovering what Chinese medicine has held for centuries: that the systems of the human body are interconnected. We work with these systems to restore balance and to heal. The ancient techniques of acupressure and acupuncture, alongside Chinese herbal medicine, still present something of a mystery to Western medicine, but anyone who has tried them with success will tell you that, while they don’t know the reason, they work.

Newport Acupuncture Center uses acupuncture and acupressure to treat a number of ailments. We believe that treating symptoms with a cocktail of pharmaceuticals can sometimes be counterproductive. Instead of treating symptoms, we attempt to treat underlying imbalances, according to ancient Chinese medicine. We use acupuncture, which involves tiny needles, acupressure, which involves manual pressure, and Chinese herbs.

A few of the treatments we offer are for pain control, anger management, skin diseases, women’s problems, and more. Acupuncture and acupressure work from the foundational belief that there is an energy flow, known as chi. This chi flows along pathways, known as meridians, that can become interrupted by physical, emotional, or spiritual stress. These stressors interrupt the flow of chi that acupuncture and acupressure can restore.
